Welcome to Geology 334

Welcome to Geology 334 (Sedimentology & Stratigraphy) Fall 2009 at the UO!

This blog is an experiment and I encourage everyone to participate. Please feel free to post your questions, ideas, thoughts, and inspired reflections on river discharge, sedimentary bedforms, alluvial fans, or whatever strikes your fancy. Questions are especially encouraged, and always benefit other students as well as yourself. In the unlikely event that class becomes disrupted by the dreaded swine flu, this could become our main means of maintaining continuity in this course. So I thought we could start playing with this forum and get used to it, just in case it becomes necessary.

Please note that I maintain a web page for this course, at http://www.uoregon.edu/~rdorsey/geo334/geo334.html. There you will find the course syllabus, schedule, grading scheme, related links, and lecture outlines. Please visit the class web page on a regular basis, since it contains lots of useful information that will help you succeed in this course.

I look forward to seeing everyone in class tomorrow (Day 1).
